At XSP we feel strongly about enhancing the quality of life in our global community. To this end we have contributed as Board Member, Fundraising Host, and various other capacities in charities and associations such as the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Project Children and Self Help Africa.
On July 27, 2011, XSP helped to organize the “Fixin’ Alabama Shindig,” which raised over $20,000 in funds for the American Red Cross in support of victims of the devastating 2011 tornadoes in Alabama. Click to learn more about the event.
In our continuing effort to help rebuild Alabama, we hosted an outing at our XSP Client Conference on April 16, 2012 which encourages clients, sponsors and employees to volunteer and lend a hand with the efforts of Habitat for Humanity.
IMMRAM & Stone Street: Helping Africa to Help Itself Benefiting Self Help Africa
On July 10, 2012, XSP hosted the IMMRAM & Stone Street: ‘Helping Africa to Help Itself’ Streetfest. XSP collaborated with local businesses, organizations and professional networks to host a benefit to support Self Help Africa.
Proceeds from every purchase made on Stone Street on July 10th will be used to support entrepreneurs in Africa: giving people who live on less than $1 a day the opportunity to start a small business by giving them access to loans and training.
IMMRAM is an Irish social networking group run by XSP Chief Executive Officer Brendan P. Farrell, Jr. The participating bars and restaurants that contributed to Self Help Africa include: Adrienne’s Pizzabar, Beckett’s Bar & Grill, Burger Burger, The Dubliner, The Growler Bites & Brews, Mad Dog & Beans Mexican Cantina, Pizza Pizza NYC, Stone Street Tavern, Ulysses’ Folk House and Vintry Wine & Whiskey.
In addition to XSP and IMMRAM, other sponsors and supporters of this benefit include: Engle Martin & Associates, The Irish Business Organization of New York (IBO), Irish International Business Network (IIBN), Irish Network of New York City (IN-NYC), Irish Network of New Jersey (IN-NJ) and Southern Wine & Spirits.
Raffle drawings and limited edition event T-shirts were sold throughout the evening to help raise even more funds for Self Help Africa. Click here for a list of raffle prizes donated by our generous sponsors and supporters.
